Dr. Keith Boyd has more than 30 years’ experience as a practicing physician and teacher of medical students and resident physicians. Prior to joining the faculty of North Park, Dr. Boyd served seven years as the senior associate dean of Rush Medical College.

“I have always been drawn to the natural sciences and clinical practice as a great way to combine the rigors of science with care and compassion for patients,” says Boyd. At North Park, Boyd teaches through the presentation of authentic patient cases. In addition, he seeks to help his students develop an understanding of concepts through their application to patient care.

The content of the courses he teaches is fundamental to good patient care. “I think students appreciate the courses because all the material is related to real-life cases,” said Dr. Boyd. His most rewarding days teaching involve witnessing that “ah-ha” moment as a student develops an understanding of a difficult concept.

Boyd is board-certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics. He holds a BA in Psychology and Anthropology from Amherst College and an MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
