Dr. Suzen Moeller chose to teach at North Park University because the school’s mission and values align closely with her own values as a learner and educator. “I appreciate and admire North Park’s emphasis on serving others throughout our lives as well as the level of personal attention it offers students,” she says.
Moeller sees a strong connection between the health sciences and North Park’s Christian distinctive, and she incorporates concepts of faith into her curriculum. “Learning how to promote health and limit disease is really about serving God, each other, and the environment we live in. Studying how the body works gives us a small glimpse into how the Creator works, providing us with an opportunity to grow closer to God,” she says.
Her courses also give students opportunities to engage with Chicago. For example, the Health Leadership Practicum and Capstone Project gives students hands-on experience working at a healthcare-related business or government agency in the Chicago area.
