Higher Learning Commission Mark of Affiliation Institutional accreditation at North Park University is provided by the Higher Learning Commission (HCL), a member of the North Central Association (NCA).

North Park University was first accredited by the Higher Learning Commission in 1926. The Commission is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) which is responsible for ensuring accrediting bodies and institutions uphold and meet the establish standards of quality. The accrediting process requires the preparation of an institutional report - a self-study. North Park University is currently actively engaged in the self-study process as it prepares for its re-accreditation. The University is scheduled on November 15- 17, 2010 to have an evaluative site visit composed of a team of Consultant Evaluators from the Higher Learning Commission to conduct a comprehensive visit. The Commission evaluates and accredits the entire institution as a whole.

The Commission provides two programs for maintaining an institution’s accreditation status. The first method can be obtained through a Program to Evaluate and Advance Quality (PEAQ) and the second method is the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP).
