Student Learning Outcomes

At the completion of this program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Discuss the structure and functions of the health care system

  2. Use critical analysis to respond to health care issues and societal needs

  3. Utilize evidence-based decision-making in the health care setting

  4. Establish collaborative relationships with clients and function effectively as part of an inter-professional team,

  5. Evaluate the legal, ethical, political, and policy issues that shape and change health care,

  6. Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity in the practice of health care,

  7. Demonstrate an understanding of human, fiscal, and materials management in the delivery of health care (Health Systems Management Track),

  8. Demonstrate an understanding of how to promote and support health and wellness behaviors in a variety of educational and clinical settings (Health and Wellness Track),

  9. Understand the role of information technology in the changing U.S. health care system.
