Marianne Kim

Lecturer

Marianne Kim is a composer, pianist, organist, and harpsichordist, noted for her performances and compositions in a diversity of musical styles. As a soloist and collaborative artist, she performs piano and organ recitals, chamber music, and jazz. She has worked for the Lakeside Singers, performing dual roles of classical accompanist and rhythm section keyboardist, and served as director of music and organist for FUMC of Glen Ellyn, and keyboardist for Willow Creek Community Church and Moody Church for more than a decade. Kim is currently principal organist at Christ Church of Oak Brook, Illinois.

She has worked for the Ravinia Festival since 2008 for several projects. Kim has created music for piano, organ, choral, and instruments, and published more than 400 titles through major publishers. She studied piano and composition at Pusan High School of Arts and earned BM in composition at Pusan National University. She also has dual master’s degrees of music in jazz studies and organ performance with scholarships and prizes from Northern Illinois University. Learn more at mariannekimmusic.com.
