Michael Lill

Michael Lill has a BA in secondary education (instrumental music) from Northeastern Illinois University. He has been the director of bands at Northside College Preparatory High School since 1999 and has served as the school’s orchestra director from 1999–2001.

Lill currently teaches three beginning bands, a concert band, and the jazz ensemble as well as conducting the orchestra for musicals and operettas. In addition, he is the chairperson of the music department. Before his tenure at Northside, he taught for 14 years at Good Counsel High School where he served as director of bands and orchestra and also assisted in directing the choruses. His ensemble experiences include cornet, flugelhorn, and drums with the Illinois Brass Band, trumpet and drums with Six of One, Queen of All Saints Basilica Contemporary Ensemble, and the Chicago Grandstand Big Band.
