Open to all wind and percussion players, this group is dedicated to the performance of band and wind ensemble music, both original music and transcriptions. Performances include on-campus concerts each term, under the direction of Dr. Joe Lill. Open to music majors and non-music majors; no audition is required.
The Jazz Combo, a group of musicians selected by audition, studies jazz music of all eras, with an emphasis on individual improvisation. This group is conducted by Dr. Joe Lill and is open to music majors and non-music majors by audition.
Under the direction of Dr. Joe Lill, the Jazz Ensemble performs a repertoire of music by large jazz groups from the big band era to the present. Ensemble members are wind, rhythm, and percussion players who have been selected by audition. An on-campus concert is presented each term, along with occasional outside performances. String, Brass, Woodwind, Guitar, and Percussion Ensembles
Chamber Ensembles are small performing groups for a variety of instrumentalists. Students pursue the study and performance of literature written specifically for small groups. They perform both on- and off-campus and participate in an annual student chamber music competition. Groups are open to music majors and non-majors by audition.
Under the direction of Dr. Tom Zelle, the University Orchestra is devoted to the study and preparation of orchestral literature from the Baroque era to the present through regular rehearsal and performance. The group periodically collaborates with vocalists to present choral and operatic literature and to tour. Open to music majors and non-music majors by audition.
Coordinated by Stephen Kelly, student worship teams lead music for campus-wide chapel and Collegelife services throughout the school year. Both vocalists and instrumentalists are welcome, and lead music from a variety of worship traditions. These teams are open to both music majors and non-majors by audition.
