Vocal Ensembles
Chamber Singers
The Chamber Singers is a small, select group of singers (both undergraduate and graduate students) that specializes in Renaissance and Baroque music while including music of many styles and periods. Multiple performances are presented on- and off-campus every year, and major tours are scheduled every second or third year. Between eight and 16 spots are available in this group, directed by Dr. Julia Davids. It is open to music majors and non-music majors by audition.
Gospel Choir
The Gospel Choir performs contemporary sacred music from the spiritual and gospel genres. A select ensemble of singers, drawn from the choir by audition, serves as a touring ensemble for the group. Performance opportunities include concerts, chapel services, and worship services at local churches. This group is co-directed by Terrance Smith and Tracy Stingley. The main choir is open to all singers; no audition is required.
University Choir
Under the direction of Dr. Julia Davids, the University Choir performs a varied repertoire of sacred and secular music. This select group of experienced singers (both undergraduate and graduate students), chosen by audition, performs regularly on- and off-campus throughout the year, with periodic national and international touring opportunities. Music majors and non-majors are welcome to audition.
Upper Voice Chorale
This ensemble of upper-voice vocalists performs a wide variety of music, including folk, popular, and religious songs; selections from cantatas; and classical pieces in Latin and French. The repertory is often enhanced with obligato instruments. Open to music majors and non-music majors by audition.
Worship Teams
Coordinated by Grace Wong, student worship teams lead music for campus-wide chapel and Collegelife services throughout the school year. Both vocalists and instrumentalists are welcome, and lead music from a variety of worship traditions. These teams are open to both music majors and non-majors by audition.
