Central Campus Green
Join the North Park community as we break ground for the newest addition to our campus map: the Nancy and G. Timothy Johnson Center for Science and Community Life. This new building, set to open in Fall 2014, will provide state-of-the-art classroom and laboratory facilities for our science programs, spaces for the campus offices that serve our students and community life, and areas for students to gather.
This day of celebration is open to our whole community: students, alumni, faculty, staff, neighbors, friends, and prospective students. All are invited to gather with us for this milestone event as we officially mark the beginning of the construction phase for the Johnson Center.
4:00 to 5:00 pm — Festival on the Green
Enjoy food, music, and more in the center of campus. This is a day for celebrating — come help us get it started!
5:00 to 5:30 pm — Johnson Center Groundbreaking Ceremony
Hear from leaders in our campus community as we honor Dr. Tim and Nancy Johnson and turn the soil to mark the beginning of construction. To learn more about the Johnson Center, visit Campaign North Park.
If you are unable to join us on campus for this ceremony, you can tune in online to watch the event:
Plus, we've extended a special invitation to prospective students interested in studying science at North Park University to join us as our guests for the day, and we've developed several events with them in mind. This will be a unique chance to meet Dr. Johnson for a brief photo opportunity, enjoy dinner with current science majors, and learn more about how the Johnson Center will impact academics and student life at North Park.
For more information about this day of celebration, please contact Marit Awes in the Office of Development via email or at (773) 244-6248.
Our guests who are on campus for the groundbreaking celebration are also invited to join the community at the School of Music Fall Choral Concert that evening at 8:00 pm. This annual event features performances from a variety of student choral groups including the University Choir and Chamber Singers.
