Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS©)

Beginning for applications for Fall 2022, the TEAS exam will be administered through ATI.

ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a diagnostic test that students take as they go through the admissions process. ATI TEAS is the most widely adopted admissions exam in nursing education because it effectively evaluates students’ academic readiness for the rigors of nursing studies.


  • Reading (53 questions)
  • Math (36 questions)
  • Science (53 questions)
  • English and Language usage (28 questions)


  • 209-minute timed assessment
  • 170 multiple-choice questions with 20 unscored pre-test questions
  • Normed data at the National and program level

The student will register for the TEAS Online Proctored by ATI at The student will choose “ATI Remote Proctor – Nursing.” Please ensure that the scores are sent to North Park University. Follow the directions provided by ATI.

It is imperative that every student prepare for this test. The ATI website has a “how to prepare” tab. Explore their study materials to optimize the performance in successfully achieving a level of “proficient.” A minimum score of Proficient on the ATI-TEAS exam is required for admission to the nursing program

Please note that the School of Nursing and Health Sciences is piloting a point admission system for the program – points will be allocated based on the TEAS score – the higher the score the more points a student can achieve.

The TEAS needs to have been taken within One Year of the student’s application. The highest score will be considered for your application.

The TEAS exam needs to be completed no later than February 1, 2022 for consideration of your application to the School of Nursing and Health Sciences for Fall 2022.

Complete applications with all materials, including Covid vaccine verification, recommendation, and resume are due no later than February 8, 2022.
