Student Success Coaching

Peer Student Success Coaching (PSSC)

Peer Student Success Coaches act as mentors for incoming freshmen, assisting them in preparing for their inaugural year in college. They facilitate a seamless transition from high school to college life through active participation in NPU’s First Year Experience program.

Peer Student Success Coaching is accessible to first-year students, offering them the chance to enhance their soft skills, time management, and sense of belonging.

How Student Success Coaching Works:

  • Students are placed into cohorts based on intended majors and added to their respective Microsoft Teams group.
  • Coaches will reach out to students via email and Teams with helpful information.
  • Monthly meetings with PSSC are required for all first-year students.
  • Meetings will be one-on-one for 30 minutes and scheduled via our Bookings link.
    • Students will receive an email and Microsoft Teams meeting link to their NPU email if meeting virtually.
    • In-person meetings: PSSC will reach out to students with a meeting location.
  • Topics for 1:1 meetings include making new friends, time management, procrastination, study skills, test anxiety, etc.
  • PSSC will show you the ropes of college life as well as share advice to ensure a successful new year!
