Spiritual Direction
Earn a Certificate in Spiritual Direction

Help discern the movement and work of God in the lives of others with a certificate in spiritual direction. In this graduate-level program, you’ll train to serve as a certified spiritual director in the Christian tradition, equipped with the skills to offer a ministry of guidance and prayer in a confidential setting of encouragement and compassion. Your gifts of listening and discernment will be utilized to help enable pastors and laity to become the people God created them to be.

Why North Park?

Our C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction is grounded in the heritage of the Evangelical Covenant Church, offering one of the leading spiritual direction certificate programs in the Evangelical tradition. We provide affordable, flexible, graduate-level instruction and training, marked by practitioner-based experiences and reflection. The courses in this 15-credit certificate can be applied to a full master’s degree at North Park Theological Seminary, enabling you to continue your studies if you choose to do so.

Cohort, Online, and In-Person Intensive Study

The program’s cohort model allows you to learn and build relationships with a small but diverse community of peers who support each other in ministry. A blending of online learning throughout the year with in-person intensive courses in the summer enables you to continue working or serving while you study.
