The Evangelical Covenant Church’s Ordination to Word and Service credential requires a minimum of 60 hours in graduate-level theological education. At 69 credit hours, the MACF dual-degree options can satisfy all these requirements, if specific courses are completed while in Seminary.
Women and men who desire to seek ordination in the ECC should take History and Theology of the Evangelical Covenant Church (HSTY 7300, 3 credit hours) as their general elective option in the program or as an additional course. Any specific questions about coursework or requirements for ordination can be directed to the ECC’s Department of the Ordered Ministry.
We recommend that you also speak with the program director for the Call to Ministry process to make sure you are on track with those additional requirements for students anticipating service in the ECC.
