Annual Multicultural Awards Banquet
The Office of Diversity and Intercultural Life invites you to join us each spring as for the Annual Multicultural Awards Celebration. North Park University celebrates diversity and recognizes the accomplishments of students from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Each year, the Multicultural Awards Banquet provides an opportunity to award outstanding students in various areas of academics, athletics, campus involvement, community service, spirituality, and involvement as leaders concerned about issues of diversity, advocacy and justice.

Celebrating Our Students, Faculty, Staff, & Alumni – Awards
Factors that may be considered in the selection process include active involvement with the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Life as well as outstanding contributions of time, leadership, and service, and their efforts to foster an inclusive and intercultural campus culture at North Park University.
Multicultural Student Leader Graduates
Multicultural Student Leader recognition honors graduating seniors who are currently or were before Cultural Clubs executive members within the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, or Secretary, provided by each active cultural club; currently or were before Collaboratory / Office of Diversity student workers with at least 1.5 years of service (three semesters, not including summer) or more; and currently or were prior SGA Diversity Representative. Recipients received the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Life Diversity Leader Graduate Stole.
The Champion of Diversity Award
The Champion of Diversity Award highlights those who have conducted exceptional work in the areas of interculturalism, restorative justice, or racial reconciliation on campus. Selected by the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Life professional and student staff, the award annually recognizes a North Park University faculty member, staff member, or administrator. (Formally known as the NPU Martin Luther King, Jr. Award).”
Honors Convocation Diversity Award
In partnership with the Office of the Provost, the Honors Convocation Diversity Award is selected by the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Life to honor a senior for outstanding leadership and sustained commitment to advancing North Park’s intercultural core identity on campus and/or throughout the Chicago community. This award is also recognized at the annual Honors Convocation ceremony.
Assistant Director Award and Director Award
Office of Diversity and Intercultural Life Director(s) Award is awarded to a person or group in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the campus community through their involvement in fostering an inclusive and intercultural campus culture at North Park University.
Impactful Alumni Award
The Impactful Alumni Award is awarded to a North Park University alumnus in recognition of their in service to the campus community through their involvement active involvement with the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Life to foster an inclusive and intercultural campus culture at North Park University.

Impactful Alumni Award
The Diversity Leader Graduate Stole
Starting with the 2020 and 2021 graduating classes, the Diversity Leader Graduate Stole is given to the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Life’s Multicultural Student Leader Graduates as a gift of their service of fostering an inclusive and intercultural campus culture at North Park University. Further, the stole recognizes the graduates’ personal persistence to graduation. The stole showcases the unity of the 10 Diversity Office Clubs who work together towards in cultivating the Intercultural distinctive at North Park University. In Fall 2019, all Diversity Office Clubs voted to participate in one stole. The Office of Diversity and Intercultural Life purchases the stoles.
