Covenant Resources for Seminary Students

Centers at North Park Theological Seminary

Particular areas that are vital to the life of the Evangelical Covenant Church, as well as the Seminary community, are supported in part by the ECC. These centers not only provide training opportunities for students, pastors, ministerial staff, and laity in the church, they also serve to resource the broader ECC community through events, study, and providing confident and competent ministers of the gospel.

The C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction

The C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction began with the vision of the Evangelical Covenant Church and funding from the Lilly Endowment’s Sustaining Pastoral Excellence grant. The center offers a Certificate in Spiritual Direction and engages in ongoing research and development in the ministry of spiritual direction, intended to benefit a wide audience. Covenant pastors trained at the center provide spiritual direction throughout the denomination, and the center is developing an association of spiritual directors to create a denomination-wide supportive network.

Center for World Christian Studies

The Center for World Christian Studies (CWCS) is a cooperative venture between North Park Theological Seminary and the Department of World Mission of the Evangelical Covenant Church. CWCS exists to engage students, missionaries, national church leaders, pastors, and congregations in intercultural biblical reflection that promotes participation in God’s mission among people everywhere. The Seminary’s certificate in intercultural studies and CWCS trips are two primary ways that these goals are achieved.
