Discipleship, Small Groups, and Prayer
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
We believe that discipleship is a corporate project that encompasses all of life: who we are, what we believe, and how we live. In this project, God in Christ through the Holy Spirit conforms us into the image of Christ. The Discipleship Movement at North Park we want to invite students deeper into this project.
The Discipleship Movement offers students an opportunity to walk together and be formed into the image of Christ as lovers of God and neighbor. This is kingdom work, and work which requires one another: students make a year-long commitment to a discipleship group through which they will be formed as leaders and as followers of Jesus

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35
Small groups are one way we seek to do life together and grow as followers of Jesus. They are a way for us to grow deeper in our faith, in our self-understanding, and in our love for others. Choosing to follow Jesus and to love as Jesus loves is the way of true life, and we are invited to do so together. Being plugged into a Small Group is one way to walk this journey with others.
You can connect with a small group throughout the academic year.

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” Acts 2:42
Prayer plays an important role in University Ministries and North Park’s campus life. Together, the community prays for ourselves, each other, and the world. In prayer, we acknowledge that all of life is lived before and with God.
A prayer room located in the Johnson Center provides a quiet, meditative place for students, faculty, and staff to pray. But our hope is that there is also be space for prayer in every room, apartment, house, and office on campus.
The University Ministries Prayer Team is a group of students dedicated to weekly prayer for individual and corporate concerns at North Park and around the world. Through a weekly prayer meeting, and other opportunities throughout the year, they invite the community to pray together and learn about different ways of praying.
