Disability Services for New Students
North Park University is committed to full compliance with all laws regarding equal opportunities for students with disabilities. The Division of Student Engagement provides accommodations and other supports to students with disabilities. It is our goal to provide every opportunity for students with disabilities to succeed in our community.
As you begin your transition to North Park University please complete the preliminary survey and submit it to Student Engagement. In addition, students with disabilities that are requesting accommodations and services should submit supportive documentation to the same office. Types of helpful documentation for accommodation and service requests include medical documentation, psycho-educational testing, and school records. If you don’t have access to copies of this type of information, you are welcome to meet with the disability access specialist to discuss other ways to demonstrate a connection between your condition and any academic barriers you anticipate or are facing.
Ideally, students should set up an appointment before the beginning of the term to discuss specific accommodations and services with the disability access specialist. Research shows that students who seek services earlier typically perform better than students who postpone seeking services to other semesters.
You can learn more about the services North Park University offers, and are welcome to contact the disability access specialist with any additional questions.
